Alexander Mijares Art Basel Miami Exhibit

Miami-based artist Alexander Mijares made a remarkable Art Basel debut with a private exhibit and reception on The Lawn at W South Beach Hotel & Residences on Saturday, December 8. Featuring 12 never before seen works by the burgeoning painter and sculpture; in addition to several special collaborations with Barcelona-based Pez and Kenor, and Los Angeles-based street artist Desire Obtain Cherish; the showcase attracted more than 500 arts enthusiasts, artists and Basel-goers. Notably, Mijares – who started painting just over a year ago and has already participated in leading art showcases in NYC’s Times Square, the Hamptons, and Santa Fe, to name a few – sold an impressive 10 pieces, or 67 percent of those works featured, as a direct result of the affair. VIP guests in attendance included Justin Bieber’s manager, Scott “Scooter” Braun; interior designer Antonio Cabrera; fellow collaborating artists Kenor and Pez;  and street artist Mr. Brainwash, who snuck out of his own neighboring event to take a peek at the breakout artist’s work.
